Graduation/Birthday BashMemorial Day/Prego Update

Wow, I haven't posted in a while...so this is an update for the month of May...

We feel like we live at the Doc. office lately. I now have to go every week. One week I go to the specialist (the perinatal Doc) and the off week I go to my regular OB Doc. So it means at least one apt. every week. We really like the Perinatal Doctor. He helped answer a lot of our questions. I officially have Polyhydramnios, excessive amniotic fluid around the baby. I explained about it a little in other posts. Basically, women get it for 1 of 3 reasons. 1st and most common reason is a birth defect. The specialist was for the most part able to rule that out of the picture. That was such a relief to us. He said of course he can't write any guarantees...but he is looking just fine. 2nd reason is if the Mother gets gestational diabetes...I had all the testing done and I don't have that either! So about 20% of women get Polyhydramnios for no reason...and they are pretty sure I am in that category. We are SO grateful to that. Now what it means is that I am at higher risk for pre-term labor because you get so big that you water just bursts. The reason I have to go to the doc. every week is so they can constantly check my fluid levels. The normal level is 5-18... I am now at a 33. The Doc. said that I have enough fluid to carry triplets in there...how fun! Unfortunately my levels keep rising every week and we are hoping that start to level out soon. If I get into the 40's then it's looking like bed rest. Bed rest is just what I need when we are trying to move! But we have so much to be grateful for it's hard to complain. We are both so stinkin excited for this little guy to get here. The bad part of me getting so big...is the back pain is in full swing. I am only 27 weeks and my hips are already dislocating. My due date is still Aug. 24th, but the Doctors are just hoping we can make it to the first week of Aug. So we will just have to see! :)

We got invited to spend the weekend at our Whitney & Mark's Cabin. It came at such a good time because we needed a weekend for a little R & R. I still have school till June 4th and Nate is just getting done, so things have been really busy!
We realize that we never take pictures with our husbands in it...girls only I guess! Lacey is due a week after me and Whit's little guy is 6 weeks old. We loved being able to lay around, eat junk, and play cards..while the boys could go fish, ride horses, and do boy things. I was actually kind of jealous because I am getting kind of sick of laying around...but that is all my body can do right now so I just gotta roll with it.

Nate had is Graduation! It happened to be the same day has my BDay. It was pretty funny because we both kept trying to make sure that we weren't taking the other persons glory and that it could be a special day for the both of us. Nate getting his RN was the best birthday present for me. I was really surprised how emotional I was at his ceremony. All of the nurses had to wear all white scrubs. I was so proud of him when they gave him the special Nightingale award. He worked so hard and I am amazed how much he was able to accomplish. Nate is now working full time at the hospital on the Medical Surgical floor. He is working the night shift so I am trying to get accustomed to sleeping home alone some nights. I need to get better at letting Nate take a nap before his shift starts because around 4am he starts sleep walking. It's just hard because I want to spend time with him before he has to be gone all night! He leaves for work at 6:30 pm and gets home at 8:30 am...I would die! I think we are in for a run for our money next year because Nate will be working full time and going to school again full time. During the RN program he was only working maybe 1 day a week. I am also going to work next year, and we'll have little Kade. We decided I am going to try to teach for one more year to help us save up and get through his Master's program and then hopefully (crossing every finger and toe) I can stay at home and be a mama!

Nate planned a BBQ for my BDay. We had dutch oven potatoes and grilled up some yummy food!
We were laughing so hard when I was trying to blow out my candles. I didn't realize how little lung capacity I have because I took a deep breath...and hardly any wind came out! It took me 3 tries! Hope my wish will still come true :)
Nate giving his speech.
Robin and Jan were so nice to come and support Nate. Nate did his preceptorship and externship with them. They are both awesome ladies and he has learned a lot from them!

Belly and Fish Pics!

My mom wants to see Kade so I promised her I would put some updated pics on my blog. I don't want people to think I am paranoid about how big I am. The only thing that worries me is that I am not due till Aug. 24th and the baby apparently gets a lot bigger the last month. I already can't breathe, and it's the worst at night. I have to take abutural (I don't know how to spell it, it's the asthma puffer thing) every night before bed because I am wheezing, and to make sure he is getting enough oxygen. Painting toenails and tying shoes are way out of the question so if any Arizona girls are down for getting a pedicure...then I am SO in :)
My doctor apt. to check my levels is tomorrow. I will find out from there if I have to start seeing a specialist...I will keep you all updated. Thanks for you support. Nate and I have a feeling that everything will be just fine.

Nate is the cutest fisherman I have ever seen. He was able to take some friends and go on Monday. He really deserved a break from cramming work, clinical rotations, studying for his boards, and getting ready for graduation. He called me at school from the Lake just SO SO excited. I love how happy he gets when he catches good fish. The best part is he lets me name all his big fish. So I would like you to meet "Poker" because he has a Poker Face. He caught a total of 12 good size bass that morning and he was a chipper boy all day. Good job Nate!

Our maybe house!

Well...this is our house if inspections and all that fun stuff goes through! We are excited, nervous, and just stressed hoping we are making the right decisions. This house definitely has some pros and cons. Pros: sweet yard and basketball court and room for a big garden on the side house. We love the kitchen and built in entertainment center. Love the dark tiled floor cause I hate mopping! It's also really close to my school. Cons: We are kinda out in the boonies. It's not too close to the freeway anymore. I don't have a Ross down the street. In order to move in it needs carpet in all the bedrooms (Pro: New carpet ) and paint through out the house (Pro: New paint :) and choose our own colors)...it needs some grouting and baseboard work through out, which really isn't too bad. It definitely would be an amazing first home for us. ANYTHING is an upgrade to the old military/college housing we are living in now. If anyone has seen the movie "The Kingdom" about Iraq...well our houses were used in that movie to be Iraq. They didn't have to do much to make it believable :)

PS..I stand corrected...My brother Jeff called me last night and said that "Th Kingdom" is filmed to take place in Saudi Arabia. He laughed and said that I am a typical American that thinks anything in the Middle East is Iraq. LOL he's right, I don't have the best geography skills. Thanks for the heads up J!
