Hair, oh hair...what should I do?????????????

I was just about to pull a GI Jane/Brittney Spears and cut all my hair off in the bathroom. It is driving me nuts. I know most of all it is because I haven't done it in who knows how long cause I have been as sick as a dog....but even when I do do it...it bugs me, never turns out, and is up in a pony in 10 min. I  LOVE long hair on other people. I usually have long hair and I suck at it. I am starting to think it is better to go short again because at least I do it....but then all that work to growing it out was a waste...AHHHHH. And then it comes to hair color and that is whole new stress. Oh the joys of being a woman :)

Pros of long hair:
*Looks good if I take the time to blow it out and round brush and straighten it.
*You can put it in a pony (is that a pro or con?)

Pros of short hair:
*Can maybe hide my nasty baby hairs that are growing back. I lost TONS of hair while nursing Kade and it is coming back in full force.
*Takes two seconds to style it and you can add a little more sas to it.

PLEASE PLEASE tell me what to flippin do? Take in mind that my face is like 8 times fatter now then in these pics. Maybe when you are skinny you hair doesn't matter...but hair is an easier fix right now :)

Do I go really short and dirty blond?

Darker and a little longer?

Medium length with some bangs?
Layers or one length?

OR...Do I keep trying to grow it out and maybe just get off my lazy butt and do it more often? I already think I have to go a little darker than I am now. I have the white trash roots going on but I am too poor to keep up on highlights. Feel free to give me your honest opinion even if you think I am hopeless and better off with a shave. THANKS :) XOXOXO

Pause please...

If I could invent anything, it would be a remote control to pause time. I don't want my little man to keep getting older. This is his 1 year stats/update:

Kade is----

-Funnier than he has ever been in his long life
-The life of the party
-A show off at restaurants
-Half Chinese...he has this fake squinty smile that is to die for
-Talking/jabbering like crazy
-A total mamas boy
-Loves to rough house with his daddy, and of course fish with him
-Back on the charts for weight: 20 lbs 5 oz. I have been working like crazy on that. He is one picky eater..still hates milk.. spits out food he doesn't like or hides it under his bum in his high chair :). Figuring out what to feed him is my biggest hardship
-He even grew a little taller...we are now the 25% whoot whoot! He still wears a lot of 6-9 clothes but can wear 12 month tops if they are a little smaller
-So maybe his head is now off the charts...over 110% head. I feel really bad when I have to squeeze his shirts over his head
-Starting to LOVE books, thank goodness since he a 3 billion of them
-The apple of my eye (okay, I don't even know what that really means. Hopefully it fits in context. Ha ha, I have just always wanted to say it)
-A bathing king. Loves baths and splashing like a crazy man
-An All star athlete. No seriously, he already has a good arm and hits everything in site with his baseball bats. We will start trying to get the kick down when the walking comes. He loves crawling. He has taken steps and can stand up with pulling himself up with anything...but he just doesn't have a huge desire to walk yet.
-Making car nosies as he pushes his trucks/cars around the house
-Give the kid a balloon or a serving spoon and he is set for life
-He is sleeping like a champ! WAHOO! Finally :)... at least 12 hours during the nap and usually 2 good naps. Oh praise the heavens. Funny thing is, that sometimes I miss him when he is napping.
-Basically, Kade is as cool as any one year old little boy can get. Thanks for making me laugh everyday.

I wish you could tell in the pic, but Kade is hitting the fish Nate caught with his baseball bat.

Just way to hot in Arizona for blankets!

-I just got offered a long term sub position for a teacher going on maternity leave. I have been struggling with the decision all week. It would help us out sooo much financially. Nate is starting up school again so he won't be able to work extra shifts at the hospital. I thought seriously about doing it. It would just be a 12 week sacrifice. But in the end I just couldn't. I love being Kader's stay at home mama. Hopefully one day something will pop up where I can help out with the bills, but not a full commitment of 5 days a week and 8 hours a day. My mom worked when us kids went into elementary school. And I will be grateful for her sacrifice everyday of my life. With her working we were able to fulfill our dreams of playing sports, and extra curricular activities. Hats off to the working mother who does what she has to do for her family. I am glad for my education so that I have teaching to fall back on. For now, I am so grateful that I can stay home with Kade.

1st Birthday!

PARTY TIME! This turned out to be such a fun day for our family. I get all weird and stressed trying to get ready for everything, but once it got started it was a blast. I had a lot of fun planning for his monkey party. The reason we did a Monkey Theme:

-First: Kade sort of looks like a monkey, especially with his little spike of hair on top.

-Second: Kade sleeps with the same monkey every single night. It is his very best friend. He drags it around the house with him and we take it everywhere. When he is tired he pats it on his face or rubs it on my face (nasty) It is SO cute to peek at him sleeping and see it tucked into his arm.

These were the little party favors that we gave to Kade's friends. It's hard to tell, but there is little monkey's on the bags.
Some pics of the decorations. I had a lot of help from Kathy and Heidi. I don't know what I would've done without them and their crafty skills. Heidi loves to make cakes and did a fabulous job on both cakes.! We kinda ruined it in this pic cause the cake was sliding off the plate..oopsy

Kade has his own bananas to smash into. He LOVED digging into it but he wanted nothing to do with eating the cake. Free reign to make a mess was the best thing he could've asked for.

These were the pre-cake pictures. I hope one day he doesn't hate me for making him wear that hat...it was just to cute on him!

The kids had a blast playing water games outside. Most of the adults were smart and tried to hide in the shade. It has been over 110 degrees all week, yuck! Kade's favorite part is when the slip'n'slide got the grass all muddy and he could roll around in the mud.

The two dingles :) He loves his Grandparents.

We were so grateful to our friends and family that were able to come celebrate with us to make it a special day for Kade.

Tired during the after party..it is hard work turning one!

I doubt it...

I really doubt there is a funnier, cuter, crazier, and more lovable little boy out there. Kade is my little love bug. His personality cracks me up every single day. He is such a happy boy. He loves to entertain, and play, play, play.

With out fail Kade is always his most mischievous when he is wearing his batman jammies.

These pics were taken maybe 20 min before my son called 911 and the cops showed up at my door. Kade loves to play with the house phone, and I love him to play with whatever keeps him entertained. We were doing a little playing before bed and suddenly the door bell rings. I was freaked out at first cause Nate was at work and no one really ever comes over. I was more nervous when I looked through the peep hole and it was a cop. He had to come into my house to make for sure that everything was okay. I was so embarrassed, mostly because the cop was hot and I was in my sweaty gym clothes.
mouth full of cookies :)

I have been putting off posting my family trip because I didn't take hardly ANY pics and I was waiting for my mom to send me some. I better just post what I have or I will never get to it when I get behind. We had our own little Davis family reunion at Bear Lake. It was SOO much fun. We had the best of both worlds. We were camping in tents, the weather was nice, and we had a boat right on the lake. I hadn't gotten to water ski or wakeboard for ages. I can not get enough of water sports. It was a lot easier to camp with so many helpers. I didn't have to try to hold Kade in one arm and put up the tent with the other.

I thought Kade was going to be hyper on the boat like he is on Nate's fishing boat. But it was just the opposite. He just relaxed and cuddled in. We took him on the early morning ski and he even slept through most of it!
Kade was obsessed with Dylan the whole time. He would try to tackle him and give him kisses. By the end of the trip they actually became little buddies and even held each others hands in their car seats.

I guess Kade loved the taste of sand because he ate it by the handfuls..yummy
Loving to sit by the fire with Uncle Mark.

We were able to stay a few more days at my parents after Bear Lake. We crammed it with as much family stuff as possible while we were there. I really am bummed that I didn't take more pics. We went to the Aquarium, Jump on it Kids Gym, The Real Salt Lake Soccer game, the boys did a lot of fishing, the girls got to have some craft nights, we got to visit my Grandparents and have a BBQ with them, and we got Mark and Nat all packed up and off to Hawaii for their school. We got to spend an evening in Ogden with Nate's older brother and his family. It was great to see them and how grown up our nieces and nephews have gotten. Nate's B-day was also while we were up there. We had a great day with my family and then my parents babysat so Nate and I could go on a hot date!  My parents spoiled him with money to spend at Cabellas and Nate got a new fishing reel and rod combo, some other random fishin stuff (I let him pick out all of that business), but I got to do the fun shopping and got him new clothes. And yes, he will probably kill me that I didn't let him throw a hat on or fix his hair before breakfast and pictures...who wants cold breakfast? I dig the bangs, swoopty thingy ha ha. Our Utah trips always go by way to fast. We didn't get to do much with friends after all the fun family events. It is amazing how when you grow up how much your families mean to you. I know I really miss everyone when we are in Arizona.

I LOVE you NATE! HaPpY BiRtHdAy!!!
