UGLY Sweater Party!

Okay, how nasty do we look? If you look closely you'll notice my nice orthopedic walking boot. I decided to wear that outfit to school the next day and those that new my personality well enough just laughed and said I looked hideous...while others just started me up and down and said nothing...some people couldn't help themselves and gave me a compliment (even though I could tell they thought I was disgusting) because they didn't know what else to say. I just let them believe I was proud of that outfit and I truly wasn't mocking other school teachers who actually where stuff like that!

Yes, my friends are mean and picked me up to put me in that huge bag!

I had to work so hard to win that huge penguin in the White Elephant game. The couple behind me in the pic really wanted it give it to their little girl who loves penguins and I am a brat because I didn't care and stole it! We shouldn't let our secret out of the bag, but here goes...Nate and I just brought one gift together so we were just going to choose one gift. Well I drew our number and it was like 3 (really bad for the game) so I ran over to Nate to tell him to draw one too so we could see which of the 2 numbers were best. He picked 19 and there where only 21 players! I snuck my number back into the bowl...He he he...I hope that doesn't qualify me for the naughty list...although we could use some charcoal for our next camping trip! :)

Early Sager Christmas

Sager's new Puppy!

Well, we are headed up to Utah on Saturday to spend Christmas with my family so we celebrated Christmas early with Nate's fam. Kathy, Nate's mom, is creative and is always planning something fun to do. We designed a gingerbread house. Kathy wanted it to look nice because she puts it on display so I am sure Lizzy (Adam's girlfriend) and I were giving her a heart attack because we were adding some crazy stuff to the house!

We probably ate more candy than we decorated with!

Nate's family got an early Christmas present! His name is Skyzer...So cute! Don't get me wrong, I definitely don't want one, it's cute to look at but I'd never want to take it home :)

And yes, I am on crutches again. I tripped playing in my indoor soccer game and tore some ligaments. I was rolling around on the turf when it happened like I had been shot or something. So embarrassing! Now I am in a walking boot. I was in a boot in all of Jeff's wedding pictures, and now I can be in a boot in all the Christmas pictures, oh joy! :)

Turkey Heads!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! We had a nice day at Nate's parents. I had made a comment to Kathy, my mother in law, about where my Thanksgiving hat was because last year she made everyone Pilgrim and Indian hats. Well also last year Nate's nieces and nephews were there. Being the creative lady she is, she hurried and made me a drumstick hat! In the mean time the stuffing burned because she was upstairs making my hat...I thought it was worth it.

Every year we run in the 10K Mesa Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. It is so much fun! They have this guy dress up in this actual turkey costume...I'm talking feathers...big old head...the whole works! I don't know how he runs in that thing. He runs pretty darn fast too and the goal is to beat the turkey. Of course Nate has beaten him every year and I haven't, so my goal was to do whatever it took to beat that darn turkey (I was considering tripping him if necessary) My it looks like luck was on my side this year because the turkey was slower than he's ever been and I barley beat him!

PS...take notice of the matching running pants...I wonder who's idea that was??? And I can't get that picture on the top to move down! Oopsy!

Mark's Visit to AZ

We had such a great time when Mark came to visit us in Arizona. We have this ladder ball game that we are obsessed with so we had a big tournament night.
I took Mark around the ASU campus...

Nate and Mark had to buy matching shoes.

Our little tennis tournament turned into a photo shoot....So I probably shouldn't put this on here but we thought we were so funny. Mark definitely brings out the crazy side in everyone. We put the camera on the bench and used the timer and took tons of stupid pictures of ourselves. This was actually one of the more appropriate ones, Yikes!

Of course we had to take Mark out to the lake. All we caught were a bunch of baby fish though.

We miss having Mark down here!

Weezer concert at the AZ State Fair!

Our friend Jeff actually got to play on stage at the Weezer concert at the Arizona State Fair. He won a contest on You-Tube to play up on stage so it was really fun to go see them. Gotta love the Fair! Awesome food and scary rides... nothing
better!

Halloween!

We had a great Halloween. I love dressing up so this is a perfect holiday for me. We had a fun party with friends the weekend before and Nate and I were tables. On Halloween we went over to Nate's family and we had a great time! My mother in law really goes all out for holidays...it got a little crazy and the candles caught fire on the spider web when we were all out side. Luckily there wasn't too much damage but the kitchen fire was pretty big!

FAMILY FANS!

True Blue Baby!!! The Dodgers haven't been in a world series since I was 5 years old so this has been such an exciting year for our family! It was great to watch some of the games together while we were in St. George. Dylan is wearing a jacket that Jeff wore when he was a baby. Gotta love it! LA had a sweet win today against the Philles so hopefully they work their magic on them the rest of the series!

Marathon!

We had such a great weekend seeing all the family in St. George for the Marathon. For me it was one of the most fun, and worst marathon I have ever run. Nate ran with my Uncle Sam because they both wanted to get a faster time than my dad and I. They both did great. I am so proud of my hubby. My dad and I had a blast because we weren't stressed to reach a certain time. Usually I am freaking out if I take to long to get a drink or heaven forbid you have to go the the bathroom during the run. It was nice to just laugh and talk to a bunch of random people during the race. We didn't listen to our Ipods once. Well, around mile 18 I was really starting to feel it. During the month of Sept. I only was able to fit in 1 run and 1 soccer game, so I was banking on that to get me through the race. My dad was such a stud and kept me company to make sure I would make it okay. Mile 23 comes along and I am still pretty much doing okay. Usually at the end of the race I get a ton of adrenaline and I can't wait to see my family and friends cheering us on. Once we got to mile 24 I could care less who was cheering, my body was shutting down and I could barley move. I finally experience the running term, "hitting the wall". I never understood how you could run so far and not be able to gut out the last few miles until now. I don't know how I even finished. My dad was so great to stay with me and drag me along. Right after we crossed the finish line I passed out and fell over. My dad said the people were trying to carry me to the first aid station and me, being the stubborn brat I am, was hitting them telling them to let me down and that I was doing just fine. Apparently they let go of me and I fell over again. Ha ha, I can't really remember all of that. Oh, and to top it off I got a form of hypothermia after the race my body couldn't warm itself up and I was shaking violently for a while. It rained during the WHOLE race....But like I said other than that it was such a great weekend. My time was my worst ever though 4 hours and 43 min. (the last 2 miles took me over 30 min, yikes!) Nate got 4 hours and 7 min. He did great because he wasn't able to train much either! He has been online today looking to sign up for more marathons. Not me, I will have to wait a while before my next one!

Update...

Okay, so now I can't blame not posting for a while on not having a computer! But, I am finally off track for 2 weeks so I will have some more time. This last month might have been one of the busiest EVER! I thought I had 3 years to change my Utah teaching certificate to my AZ certificate...well, I don't know where I came up with that because I only had 1 year to do it! So in order to continue teaching I had to take 2 state board tests and night classes after school. I had already committed to teaching 3 aerobics classes a week and so much for my soccer team. As hard as it was we were still blessed so much through that time. It worked out that I could still go up for Mark's homecoming. I can't even explain how great it is to have him back in our lives. He is an amazing spirit. He served a great mission and we are all so proud of him. Another blessing we received is that a friend sent me a card with no return address. What was inside really helped us out of a tough time because Nate's financial aid hadn't come in yet and he needed to buy some more books for school. I wish I could tell that person how much we appreciated that thoughtfulness and I hope that I can serve with a giving heart like that more often. I know the Lord answers our prayers through other people. Well..I just finished report cards and parent teacher conferences and it's time for a break! We leave Thursday to St. George for the marathon. I am pretty much crossing my fingers that I don't die because I haven't had time with everything going on this last month to run! Yikes! Nate will do well he is more dedicated to training. I am just excited to go up to see some family and friends and most of all Dylan!

NFL Cardinals Football Game!

DODGERS COME TO AZ!!!

Bring it on Diamondbacks! We love when the Dodgers come to town! I wanted to support the Dbacks when we first moved here because it's always fun to like the team in the town that you live in. But I just couldn't do it! In fact I HATE the Dbacks...especially because every time that they win it hurts the Dodgers. True Blue for life! Annie, JJ and their cute family just moved to Glendale, AZ. We are so excited to have them here. Both JJ and Nate are so busy in school but I am sure we'll get to do things with them. Her son Logan is my new best friend!! I also need to Welcome Manny...he cranked out 2 homers at the game we went to...as long as he keeps that up, then welcome to LA!

New Computer!!!

Yeah! We finally got a new computer thanks to Holly helping us find one. Nate and I are both not very computer savvy so we didn't even know what we were looking for. My old computer wouldn't let me load pictures on it anymore so now we are excited to re-enter the blogging world! We'll catch you up a bit on our fun summer....
1. We both had summer birthdays so we were able to get together with a bunch of our friends to celebrate.
2. The Ivins invited us and the Lameiux's to Blanding for the 4th of July. We played in an all night softball tourney, all day volleyball tourney, went to the parade, and watched fireworks..It was an awesome weekend. After Blanding we all packed up and went to Colorado to the Ivins Cattle Ranch. My was that the experience of a life time! We road horses, fished liked crazy, and herded cow. Of course Nate loved the fishing the best. It still ceases to amaze me that he can wake up at 4:30 in the morning to fish...even more amazing when he can convince me to go with him.We hope to go back to the Ranch soon!
3. We were able to get up to Utah for a short trip to see our families. It was the first time Nate got to meet Dylan. He is the cutest little guy on earth! We celebrated Susie's 50th Bday on that trip as well. It was fun to see Nate's nieces and nephews in Ogden too. On the way to SLC we stopped to hike the Orderville/Narrows hike at Zion with Kami, her hubby and some other friends. It was an awesome 13 mile hike.
4. We went on a last min. camping trip with Nate's parents and sister, Heidi, before we had to start back to school. We went to Lake Mary and found a nice camping site there. My uncle Dan hooked me up with some yummy dutch oven recipes so Nate and I bought our first dutch oven and gave it whirl.
5. Fossil Springs...we are back! This is one of our favorite hikes. You hike down for 4 miles to BEAUTIFUL waterfalls. There are all sorts of ropes swings and rocks to jump off of. The water is so clear that you can see all the way through the bottom, and you can see all the little fish swimming around!
6. Of course we took plenty of fishing trips...I loved reading my Twilight books on the boat. I read so many books this summer! The joy's of a work free summer!
7.Happy 1 year Anniversary! We celebrated our first year together. My oh my has it been quite the year of firsts and new changes in life. New jobs, schools, states, friends, families, and new adventures! We have been fortunate to do so many fun things with each other. Nate is the best husband anyone can ask for. I am sure we will look back to this time of our life and cherish the memories we've made.
